46 hours until I depart and I haven’t felt anxious until right now. Thought I might write something really good. But I’m watching the Colbert Report and I really can’t focus.
Final note, my cell phone is going to turned off Friday before I go to dinner. So if you want to talk to me call me before then.

Brian, you are on your way... or you are at least standing in a line at LAX. You have been quiet all day today and as we dropped you off at the airport you had that same quiet smile. Hugs at the airport are not enough to say how much I admire your striking off boldly into a new world. You are not leaving friends and familiar things behind -- you will always hold them in your heart as you add new friends and things.
In your high school yearbook Phil, Maryann and I wrote, "Oh, the places you will go!" Little did we know where you would be heading a few years later. But it was clear then that you would travel the world. Bon voyage!
